PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking detection device which detects a parking situation in a car park by image-processing image data captured from above by a camera attached to a top portion of a high steel pole, and which is capable of stably detecting the parking situation all the time by preventing a shift in field of view captured by the camera even when a surface of the pole is subjected to direct sunlight on one side under fine weather.SOLUTION: A parking detection device secures a camera on a top portion of a pole using a camera platform in such a way that the attitude of the camera is controllable, and retrieves a piece of camera attitude control information corresponding to the current date and time from camera attitude control information stored in association with date and time for the entire year to control the attitude of the camera. The device also detects the amount of solar radiation in the surroundings and provides attitude control in order to correct for a shift in field of view of the camera if the amount of solar radiation in the surroundings during the daytime is equal to or greater than a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
