PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuse element capable of surface mounting, while reconciling enhancement of rating and fast fusing, and to provide a fuse device, a protection device, a short circuit device, and switching device using the same.SOLUTION: A fuse element 1 has a high melting point metal layer 2, a first low melting point metal layer 3 having a melting point lower than that of the high melting point metal layer 2, and a second low melting point metal layer 4 having a melting point lower than that of the first low melting point metal layer 3. The high melting point metal layer 2 is laminated between the first low melting point metal layer 3 and second low melting point metal layer 4, the fuse element 1 is blown out by an overcurrent, a protection device protects the circuit when the fuse element 1 is fused by electric heating of a heating element, and interrupting between the first and second electrodes. A short circuit device fuses by electric heating of the heating element to short-circuit between electrodes, and a switching device is provided with first and second fusible elements, using the fuse element 1, between two sets of electrodes, and are fused by heating elements, to interrupt and short-circuit between the electrodes, thus switching the circuit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
