An input/output operation device (165) is provided with: an operation section (850); a movable unit (180) that includes at least one drive magnet (401, 402), and a body (802) that has a loose-fitting space therein and that supports the operation section, the body having a first loose-fitting surface (820) exposed in the loose-fitting space; a fixed unit having a holder (811) which has a second loose-fitting surface (821) that loosely fits with point or linear contact with the first loose-fitting surface of the movable unit and which rotatably supports the movable unit, a base (811) which has a space for accommodating at least a portion of the movable unit and which supports the holder, and at least one drive coil (301, 302); a drive unit for rotating the movable unit in relation to the fixed unit; and a detector for detecting the position of the operation section in the fixed unit. One of the first and second loose-fitting surfaces includes the internal peripheral surface of a concavity, and the other of the first and second loose-fitting surfaces includes at least one convex spherical surface.
