PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a banknote processing machine which can be used by users with a sense of security.SOLUTION: The banknote processing machine comprises a deposit part 15 to which a banknote B is inserted from above in a posture with long sides as a top end and a bottom end, and a delivery mechanism which delivers laterally the banknote B inserted into the deposit part 15 in a state in which a bottom end edge part thereof is supported by a delivery support part 58. The deposit part 15 includes an advanceable/retractable stopper member 61 which supports the bottom end edge part of the inserted banknote B at an upper portion than the delivery support part 58 and make the banknote B project above a top end opening part, and a pull-in mechanism 62 which pulls in the banknote B supported by the stopper member 61 downwardly while holding both sides of the banknote in the thickness direction and delivers the banknote to the delivery support part 58. The stopper member 61 retracts in conjunction with the pull-in operation of the banknote B by the pull-in mechanism 62.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
