PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance generating device capable of reliably releasing resistance against rotational motion of a rotating body used in an opening and closing drive device of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A resistance generating device 1 includes an output member 2 for transmitting rotational motion to a rotating body, an engagement member 3 which is held by the output member and can move to the output member, a fixing member 4 having an engagement part 4c and arranged around the output member, an energizing member 13 for energizing the engagement member so that the engagement member is engaged with the engagement part of the fixing member and resistance against the rotational motion of the rotating body is generated, and a releasing member 7 engaged with the engagement member and releasing the engagement between the engagement member and the engagement part against the energizing force of the energizing member when being rotated with power applied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
