An electric pressure cooker and a detection circuit thereof. The detection circuit comprises: a magnet (1) disposed in a cover of the electric pressure cooker, a giant magnetoresistor (2) disposed in a cooker body, and a control chip (3) electrically connected to the giant magnetoresistor (2) to control the working state of the electric pressure cooker according to a sensing signal of the giant magnetoresistor (2). When the electric pressure cooker performs heating, the magnet (1) is not close to the giant magnetoresistor (2) to make the giant magnetoresistor (2) generate a sensing signal which indicates that the cover is not closed on the cooker body; at this time, the control chip (3) controls the electric pressure cooker to not perform heating according to the sensing signal, so that water in the cooker body is prevented from boiling away to cause burning due to long-time heating, and use safety of the electric pressure cooker is guaranteed. |
