PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "map data creation device and a computer program" that upgrades an actually passable but unguaranteed road that is registered in map data as a lowermost hierarchy road to a higher hierarchy road.SOLUTION: Among links of unguaranteed roads of level 1 hierarchy in original map data, links 401-406 and a link 410 (a) whose traffic volumes indicated by traffic volume data satisfy a prescribed standard are set as a link of interest (b). Next, a route from each end point of the link 410 of interest not connected to a link whose node at both end points is level 2 or other links of interest to a link whose node is level 2 or other links of interest is searched, and links 411, 412 composing the route are added to the links of interest (c). Then, the links of interest are removed from the hierarchy of level 1 in the original map data, and map data for navigation is created with the content in which the links of interest are added to the hierarchy of level 2 in the original map data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
