PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new carbazole derivative having excellent carrier transport properties and suitably usable as a transport layer and host material of a light-emitting element; and to provide organic semiconductor material and light-emitting element material using the carbazole derivative.SOLUTION: A carbazole compound can be synthesized in which 2-position or 3-position of a carbazole skeleton is substituted by 4-position of dibenzothiophene skeleton or dibenzofurane skeleton directly or through an arylene group. The carbazole compound is found to have moderate carrier transport properties and preferable film quality, and be suitably used as light-emitting element material and organic semiconductor material. Also one of a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, and a naphthyl group is substituted to nitrogen of the carbazole skeleton.SELECTED DRAWING: None
