PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a novel lithium air secondary battery which exhibits superior cycle characteristics and a superior energy efficiency to those of a conventional lithium air secondary battery; and a method for manufacturing an air electrode of such a lithium air secondary battery.SOLUTION: A lithium air secondary battery of the present invention comprises: an air electrode 1 including a carbon bicontinuous porous body; a negative electrode 2 including metallic lithium or a lithium-containing substance; and an organic liquid electrolyte 3 in contact with the air electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2. The air electrode 1 includes the carbon bicontinuous porous body which has a three dimension network structure, and includes a metal oxide, such as a ruthenium oxide (RuO). Therefore, the lithium air secondary battery of the present invention enables the achievement of a small charge-discharge voltage difference, enables the suppression of reduction in discharge capacity even after repetition of charge and discharge cycles, and enables the materialization of superior cycle characteristics and a superior energy efficiency to those of a conventional lithium air secondary battery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
