VISITOR AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND VISITOR AUTHENTICATION METHOD

A visitor authentication system 1 comprises: an IC card 8 carried by a visitor 7 who visits a visit destination 3; a server device 20 having an IC card writer device 16 and storing temporally limited information (check information 60); and a visit destination device 10 placed at the visit destination 3, having an IC card reader/writer device 16 and connected such that the visit destination device 10 can communicate with the server device 20. The visitor authentication system 1 writes the temporally limited information into the IC card 8 before the visitor 7 visits the visit destination 3. When the visitor 7 visits the visit destination 3, the visitor authentication system 1 authenticates the visitor 7 by checking, against the temporally limited information stored by the server device 20, the information read from the IC card 8 having been set to the IC card reader/writer device 16. During the check, the visitor authentication system 1 excludes, from the check targets, information that is included in the temporally limited information stored by the server device 20 and that has expired.
