Provided is a liquid crystal display device such that shadowing can be easily improved at low cost. Switching elements 3 are disposed so that columns where gates are connected to scanning signal lines G1, G2, G3, … G2n and columns where gates are connected to scanning signal lines G2, G3, … G2n+1 alternate. The sources for the switching elements 3 in the same column are alternately connected to two data signal lines provided for each column. A gate driver 4 selects two scanning signal lines in order of G1 and G2n, G3 and G2n-2, G5 and G2n-4 … G2n-1 and G2, and supplies the switching elements 3 with a scanning signal. Subsequently, the scanning signal is supplied to the switching elements 3 associated with scanning signal line G2n+1. |
