PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting system for use of transportation means or a supporting method for use of transportation means that use positional information on users of transportation means to support other users.SOLUTION: A supporting system for use of transportation means comprises acquiring means that acquires positional information on a plurality of users, memory means that stores the acquired positional information on users, evaluating means that evaluates positional information on vehicles in operation on the basis of the positional information on users, and communicating means that transmits the positional information on vehicles to users desiring support. The memory means stores in advance information regarding the travel routes of vehicles in operation, the evaluating means uses the information regarding the travel routes to identify a person on board a vehicle in operation by using a plurality of pieces of positional information acquired by the acquiring means, extracts the vehicle in operation from positional information on the identified person on board, and generates information on the vehicle in operation extracted in response to the request from the person desiring support.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
