PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further increase energy efficiency during coast travelling of a vehicle and/or improve drivability.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device that controls a vehicle equipped with an electric motor capable of imparting rotational drive force to an output shaft or an axle of an internal combustion engine imparts rotational drive force to an output shaft or an axle of an internal combustion engine from an electric motor during coast travelling of a vehicle, and changes the magnitude of the output of the electric motor at that time, or whether or not to impart the rotational drive force from the electric motor according to at least one of a vehicle speed, deceleration of the vehicle or the gradient of a road surface, and a transmission gear ratio of a change gear interposed between the output shaft and the axle of the internal combustion engine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
