PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function to offload data input processing from a compound machine (MFP) to remote computing devices (for example, user's computer, tablet, and smartphone).SOLUTION: In an embodiment, an MFP scans a user's document and holds the scanned document while waiting for data input processing of specifying meta data to the scanned document. The MFP specifies a remote computing device for the user to execute the data input processing, provides the remote computing device with notification requesting the meta data for the scanned document, and receives the meta data from the remote computing device. The MFP specifies the meta data to the scanned document and releases the scanned document from a scan destination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
