A control device according to an embodiment controls a plurality of nodes which configure a dual-ring network. Each of the plurality of nodes comprises: a communications unit which is capable of sending and receiving a frame to and from adjacent nodes; a first counter which increments when a regular frame is received via the communications unit; and a second counter which increments when a faulty frame is received via the communications unit. The control device further comprises a control unit which, when the faulty frame is sent and received upon the dual-ring network, specifies, on the basis of the values of the first counter and the second counter of each of the plurality of nodes, a terminal node of the dual-ring network from the plurality of nodes, and specifies, with the specified terminal node as an origin, a faulty site of the dual-ring network on the basis of the values of the second counter. |
