The present invention relates to a metal detection sensor and a metal detector including the same, capable of detecting even a fine metal foreign material by high precision, while coping with various situations. The metal detection sensor (10A) comprises: a sensor coil (11) formed by winding a conducting wire (13) around a core (12) twice to generate a magnetic field; and a magnetization magnet (14A), as a unit for magnetizing a metal foreign material, disposed to generate a magnetic field of magnetization within a range in which the magnetic field of the sensor coil 11 reaches. When a to-be-inspected object is moved to the magnetization magnetic field in the metal detection sensor (10A) detecting a metal foreign material of the to-be-inspected object from the sensor coil 11, if an eddy current is generated in a packing part or the to-be-inspected object itself to cause erroneous detection or degrade detection precision, the detection magnetic field acts as a cancelation magnetic field to extinguish the eddy or reduce the eddy to a point at which an error does not occur, whereby the sensor coil (11) serves as an eddy current cancelation unit as well as as a metal foreign material detection unit. |
