PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce positional deviation between a rod lens array and a member such as an LED due to heat generation in equipment having a rod lens array.SOLUTION: A writing device 10 includes a rod lens array 1 and an LED 12 disposed in a predetermined relative positional relationships with the rod lens array 1 that generates heat. The rod lens array 1 includes a pair of first base plates, and a plurality of columnar rod lenses arranged between the pair of first base plates so that the central axes are in parallel to one another. The LED 12 is disposed on a second base plate 14. The first base plates and the second base plate 14 are made of a material with a linear expansion coefficient by which the positional relationships between the rod lens array 1 and the LED 12 do not change substantially when the first base plates and the second base plate 14 are deformed by the heat from the LED 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
