The present invention relates to an apparatus for game security and a method of updating security module thereof for online game service, which minimizes game service halt for a long time due to a faulty update of security module. The method of updating the security module of the apparatus for game security of the present invention may comprise: a step of carrying out security module update for client′s terminal that is connected to a game server, and monitoring the number of simultaneous connections; and a step of immediately stopping execution of security module installed in the client′s terminal, when the number of simultaneous connections decreases more than a pre-determined value.
