An elevator comprises the components as follows: a brake shoe, the inner side pressing surface of which is arranged opposite to a guide rail, wherein an inclined surface for applying a pressing force and a standby recess portion are provided, the inclined surface for applying a pressing force is formed at the opposite side of the guide rail and gets close to the guide rail towards the rise-up direction when emergency braking happens, the standby recess portion is closer to the guide rail side than the inclined surface applying a pressing force; an elastic body, which is arranged between an upper framework and a lower framework, wherein the upper framework and the lower framework are arranged on the elevator; a plurality of rollers, which are arranged between the inclined surface of the brake shoe and a guide member and are arranged along the rise-up direction of the brake shoe; and a step type roller positioned at the opposite direction of the rise-up direction, wherein at a nomal state, the step type roller is positioned between the standby inclined surface and the guide member and moves with the brake shoe at the primary period of emergency braking, and moves from the standby position near the standby inclined surface towards the inclined surface applying a pressing force. |
