ACARS hybrid communication system

The system (300) has a switch (360) connected to a high frequency emission/reception module (340) and to an aircraft communication and reporting system over internet protocol conversion gateway (380) respectively by bi-direction connections (341, 381). The switch selects the former connection when the switch is in a switching position and the other connection when the switch is another switching position. The switch is in the latter position when an aircraft is at the ground or preset distance from the ground and in the former position when the aircraft is not at the ground or the distance.
