The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device. According to an embodiment, the liquid crystal display device comprises: a first substrate; a first subpixel electrode including a first sub-area and a second sub-area, arranged on the first substrate and applied with a first voltage; a second subpixel electrode, arranged on the first substrate and applied with a second voltage, including a third sub-area, a fourth sub-area, and a fifth sub-area; an insulation film arranged on the first sub-area of the first subpixel electrode and the third sub-area of the second subpixel electrode and arranged under the second sub-area of the first subpixel electrode and the fourth and fifth sub-areas of the second subpixel electrode; a second substrate facing the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer arranged on the second substrate and between a common electrode and the first and second substrates. Additionally, the first sub-area of the first subpixel electrode and the fourth sub-area of the second subpixel electrode are piled up on one another. The purpose of the present invention is to improve the side visibility as much as the front visibility and to provide accurate colors on the side. |
