An outdoor unit for an air conditioner is provided with a housing which is open at the top, a fan which is disposed at the opening and which has blades, a fan drive section which is provided upstream of the fan, and at least one support member which extends across the inside of the housing and which supports the fan drive section. A heat exchanger is provided on a side surface within the housing. The support member includes a pair of first stepped sections which forms a recess which is recessed downward. The pair of first stepped sections is located upstream of the fan. |
