A method of measuring a tile 11, to enable the tile to be cut to a desired shape. The method comprises the steps of: place a clip 10 about an edge of tile 11, wherein the clip comprises two or more tile-engaging projections (19, 20, Fig 2) and a base portion (21, Fig 2), said projections extend from said base portion and are positioned to abut top and bottom surfaces of the tile; place the tile and engaged clip against an object 12 next to which the tile will be fixed, wherein the clip abuts said object; measure on a surface of the tile to be fixed to a wall a point where the tile is to be cut; cut the tile along a line 17 corresponding to the measured point, whereby the tile is of the correct size whilst leaving a grouting space between the tile and said object when the tile is fixed to the wall. Also included is a clip the clip adapted to assist the measurement of a tile. |
