PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation inspection apparatus capable of suitably performing insulation inspection by reducing dispersion of partial discharge start voltages of a measurement object.

SOLUTION: The insulation inspection apparatus includes: an AC power supply 3 for applying an AC voltage to a measurement object 2 for inspecting an insulation defect; a discharged charge amount detection part 6 for detecting a discharged charge amount caused by partial discharge generated in the measurement object 2 due to application of the AC voltage; and an insulation determination part 7 for determining the quality of insulation of the measurement object 2 based on the detected discharged charge amount to inspect an insulation defect of the measurement object 2. The insulation inspection apparatus further includes a DC power supply 9 for supplying a DC current to the measurement object 2. After setting an insulation film temperature of the measurement object 2 higher than an atmospheric temperature by supplying the DC current from the DC power supply 9 to the measurement object 2, a control part 8 performs control to apply the AC voltage from the AC power supply 3 to the measurement object 2 while boosting the AC voltage at a predetermined speed.
