If communications with an information processing device are established by near field communication, an image forming device according to the present invention selects an appropriate connection method among multiple connection methods depending on a situation and transmits information necessary to conduct communications via the selected connection method to the information processing device via near field communication. The image forming device comprises: a near field communication unit; a wireless communication unit capable of operating in a first wireless communication mode and a second wireless communication mode; a configuring unit for configuring the near field communication unit so that first connection information or second connection information can be recorded in the near field communication unit; and a recording unit for recording either the first connection information or the second connection information.
