PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a half tone in a wide temperature range.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1 includes: substrates 10 and 11; lower display electrodes 20 and 30 provided respectively to the substrates 10 and 11; insulating layers 21 and 31 provided respectively on the lower display electrodes 20 and 30; upper display electrodes 22 and 32 provided respectively on the insulating layers 21 and 31, and comprised of a mesh-like pattern having a plurality of openings; opposing electrodes 23 and 33 provided respectively on the insulating layers 21 and 31; and a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal layer 40 held between the substrates 10 and 11. |
