The present invention relates to a preparation method of a catalyst for synthesizing polyethylene and a synthesis method of polyethylene using the same. More particularly, the preparation method of a catalyst for synthesizing polyethylene comprises the steps of: preparing a magnesium solution by conducting a reaction of a magnesium compound, alcohol, and a compound represented by chemical formula 1; conducting a reaction of the magnesium solution, tetrahydrofuran, and a transition metal compound; and conducting a reaction of the obtained resultant product with a hydrocarbon-based compound at 60 to 120°C. The preparation method can prepare a catalyst which can usefully adjust characteristics of synthesized polyethylene such as molecular weight distribution, mechanical properties, etc., and can exhibit high reactivity during polyethylene synthesis. |
