PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contamination method for safely treating incinerated ash or fly ash generated in the case of incinerating combustibles to which radioactive cesium has been adhered by removing radioactive cesium contained in the incinerated ash or fly ash.
SOLUTION: A decontamination method includes the following processes: (A) incinerating combustibles to which radioactive cesium has been adhered in an incinerator to generate incinerated ash or fly ash; (B) carrying out a melting treatment for the incinerated ash or fly ash in an ash melting facility, and condensing the radioactive cesium in melted fly ash; (C) washing the melted fly ash with water to extract a water-soluble radioactive cesium compound, and thereby obtaining an aqueous solution; (D) bringing a mordenite-type zeolite absorbent or a ferrocyanide compound absorbent into contact with the aqueous solution of the radioactive cesium compound while adding coagulated sediment to make the absorbent absorb ions of the radioactive cesium, and carrying out coagulation sedimentation of the absorbent; and (E) separating the coagulated sediment of the absorbent which has absorbed the radioactive cesium by solid-liquid separation.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
