The present invention relates to a power converting apparatus, and an air conditioner having the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the power converting apparatus comprises: a rectifying unit for rectifying input current power; an interleaved converter converting the rectified power into direct current power, and having a plurality of converters outputting the converted direct current power; and a converter control unit for controlling the interleaved converter. A first converter of the interleaved converter includes a first switching element of first transmittance, and a second converter of the interleaved converter includes a second switching element of second transmittance greater than the first transmittance. Therefore, the power converting apparatus can be effectively operated in various loads. |
