Sensor 101 perhaps a camera, microphone or movement detector obtains information from the environment of a computing device, co-processor 102 providing functionality for the sensor. At least one channel (151, fig. 1B) connects the co-processor to a central processing unit (CPU, 110) of the computing device. Component 121 monitors sensor data transmission over the channel(s) to determine when a transmission of data changes from a low data transmission mode to a high data transmission mode. Warning component 120 activates an alert, provided by alert indicator 125, when transmission of data changes to a high data transmission mode. The co-processor may be connected to the CPU by a first channel 131 and a second channel 132, the first channel having a low bandwidth with a predefined bandwidth threshold and the second channel having a higher bandwidth than the first. The monitoring component may determine transition to a high data transmission mode when transmission changes from the first channel to the second channel or when transmission breaches a predefined threshold rate. Working memory 103 of the co-processor may be wiped when the data transmission rate becomes high. |
