"Biocompatible energization elements" (e.g. batteries for a biomedical device such as an electroactive contact lens) comprising cavities in laminar polymer structures, thus defining a gap spacer layer wherein a separator is placed or formed and a cathode spacer layer wherein cathode chemicals are filled. The hole/cavity in the cathode spacer layer is aligned with the hole/cavity in the gap spacer layer but smaller. The batteries are primary batteries, preferably MnO2/Zn batteries. |
