PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothing dryer that allows compression performance of a compressor to be changed so as to optimally maintain an entire energy balance of the clothing dryer including a heat pump device when drying an object to be dried, thereby allowing drying of the object to be dried with reduced energy irrespective of the state of the object to be dried.SOLUTION: A drum-type washing and drying machine 100 includes a heat pump device 13, an air circulation path 18, a compression performance changing unit 15, a thermistor 16, and a control unit 20. The thermistor 16 detects a surface temperature of a prescribed portion in coolant piping 14 of the heat pump device 13. The control unit 20 controls the compression performance changing unit 15 so as to change the compression performance of a compressor 7 on the basis of the variation of the surface temperature of the coolant piping 14 per unit time detected by the thermistor 16. |
