摘要 The purpose of the present invention is to improve the power generation efficiency of a fuel cell. A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell including a single cell provided with an anode and a cathode; a hydrogen supply device supplying a hydrogen gas to the anode; a circulation pump circulating an anode exhaust gas by supplying the anode exhaust gas back to the anode, the anode exhaust gas containing hydrogen discharged from the anode without being used for power generation by the fuel cell; and a control unit controlling the amount of supply of the hydrogen gas by the hydrogen supply device and the rotation speed of the circulation pump. The control unit drives the circulation pump such that the rotation speed becomes close to an optimum rotation speed of the circulation pump at which a total hydrogen loss amount is minimized that is the sum of a hydrogen amount equivalent to power required for the circulation pump to be driven and the amount of hydrogen passing from the anode side to the cathode side of the fuel cell at a predetermined current value.
