In one or more embodiments, provided are electrical supply systems including electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). The EVSE includes a communication gateway for enabling a user to connect to internet via an EVSE server. In some embodiments, the EVSE permits communications with other smart devices and/or communications with loads coupled to a load center. A user or a utility service provider can conduct energy management and home automation operations using the communication gateway of the EVSE via the EVSE server and can transmit control signals to the smart devices via the EVSE. Also, the EVSE can provide a protection mechanism with respect to the smart devices coupled to the load center in case of emergency such as brownouts and electric surges on an electric grid. In other aspects, provided are systems and methods for operating EVSE. |
