The device has two commutation half-branches (32A, 32B) that are connected in series in a set of intermediate terminals (34U, 34V, 34W). A diode (38) is connected in a parallel manner with regard to a controllable electronic switch (37). A measurement unit (20) is arranged for measurement of a quantity relative to a current suitable to circulate in the diode of a branch (30). A control unit (48) is arranged for controlling another electronic switch (46) according the quantity measured by the measurement unit.
