The heat exchanger (100) comprises a heat exchanger matrix (102) for transferring the thermal energy from a fluid flow to an air flow. The heat exchanger matrix extends completely over a cross-sectional area of the airflow of the heat exchanger. Another heat exchanger matrix (104) transfers the heat energy from the fluid flow to the air flow. The latter heat exchanger matrix is arranged on the former heat exchanger matrix and in fluidic operation. The latter heat exchanger matrix extends a receiving opening (106) completely over the cross-sectional area for an auxiliary heater.
