The present invention relates to a composition for inducing dedifferentiation into induced pluripotent stem cells containing leptin protein or genes encoding the same; and a method for inducing dedifferentiation from somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells by using the composition. When inducing dedifferentiation from somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells by using leptin protein according to the present invention, stability is ensured since conventional c-myc genes or the like known to induce tumors are not used, and the induced pluripotent stem cells have excellent pluripotent properties or differentiation ability. Thus, the pluripotent stem cells are differentiated into myocardial cells, insulin-producing cells or nerve cells to be applied to stem cell transplantation for various diseases, such as heart failure, insulin-dependent diabetes, Parkinson′s disease or spinal cord injury.
