Provided in the present invention is a method for reducing CD36 expression within a cell. The method comprises a step of making a cell contact with the effective amount of aromatic-cationic peptide having one or more net positive charges; at least four amino acids; and at most about 20 amino acids, and satisfying relation, between minimum number (pm) of net positive charges and total number (r) of amino acid residues, that 3 pm is a maximum value among values of r+1 or less; and relation, between a minimum value (a) of an aromatic group and total number (pt) of net positive charges, that 2a is a maximum value among values of pt+1 or less (except for the case that a is 1, and pt is 1). |
