The present invention relates to a system capable of compensating flaws of a gaseous fire extinguishing system. The objective of the present invention is to provide a steam spray fire extinguishing system which stores water of high temperature and high pressure in a high temperature and high pressure tank storing a prior fire extinguishing agent, and emits a great quantity of steam to a fire source or fire breakout area in case of emitting the high temperature and high pressure water in accordance with pressure and temperature difference when the high temperature and high pressure water is emitted through a steam emission header by opening a steam control valve in accordance with a fire sensing signal or a manual operation actuating signal. To achieve the above objective, the steam spray fire extinguishing system according to the present invention comprises: a fire extinguishing water storage water tank to store fire fighting water; the high temperature and high pressure tank to store water by delivering the water stored in the fire extinguishing water storage water tank by a fire extinguishing water pump; a heater to heat the water delivered to the high temperature and high pressure tank; and the steam emission header to emit the steam by being connected to the high temperature and high pressure tank.
