The present invention relates to a power transmission device for an electric bicycle, which is freely detached. The power transmission device for an electric bicycle, which is freely detached, includes: a disc rotor installed on a hub to which a wheel of an electric bicycle is fixed and including a ring gear on one side; a quick release mount fixed onto a front wheel fork or a shock absorbing unit of the electric bicycle; and a driving unit including a driving motor, and attached to and detached from the quick release mount, wherein the driving unit includes at least a gear gear-combined with the ring gear to transfer power of the driving motor to the ring gear by reducing the power of the driving motor using multiple gear combinations. According to the present invention, the power transmission device for an electric bicycle improves convenience of use as the power transmission device can be attached and detached. The power transmission device can minimize damage to the motor so the life of the power transmission device can be extended. The power transmission device enables the electric bicycle to be used in various embodiments. |
