PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method capable of performing recording with high transfer efficiency.SOLUTION: The recording method performs: a reaction liquid applying step for applying reaction liquid which contacts ink to be increased in viscosity onto an intermediate transfer body 101; an intermediate image forming step for applying the ink onto the intermediate transfer body applied with the reaction liquid so as to form an intermediate image; an auxiliary liquid applying step for applying auxiliary liquid containing water-soluble resin onto the intermediate image so as to form an intermediate image layer; and a transferring step for transferring the intermediate image layer onto a recording medium, in this order. At least one selected from a group constituted of the reaction liquid, the ink and the auxiliary liquid includes a specific chemical compound, and the reaction liquid includes a surfactant having a cloud point other than the chemical compound. In the transferring step, a temperature at the time when the intermediate image layer contacts the recording medium is equal to the cloud point of the surfactant or more and equal to a glass transfer point of the water-soluble resin or more, and a temperature at the time when the intermediate image layer is separated from the intermediate transfer body is less than the glass transfer point of the water-soluble resin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
