PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with improved durability, in which a narrower frame can be easily fabricated and a backlight unit can be stably held.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a cover panel 14 disposed to overlap a display screen of a liquid crystal display panel 12, a housing case 16 fixed to the cover panel to cover the liquid crystal display panel, and a backlight unit 20 mounted inside the housing case and opposing a back face of the liquid crystal display panel. The housing case has a bottom wall 17a opposing the back face of the liquid crystal display panel and to the backlight unit, and a side wall directly opposing at least one side edge of the backlight unit via a clearance. At least one of a reflection sheet RE, a light guide plate LG and an optical sheet OS constituting the backlight unit is housed in the housing case as opposing the side wall of the housing case via a clearance C and being displaceable relative to both the housing case and the liquid crystal display panel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
