One of the optical switches includes a plurality of optical fibers positioned in an array, the plurality of fibers including one or more input fibers and a plurality of output fibers; a microelectromechanical (MEMS) mirror configured to controllably reflect light from an input fiber to a particular target output fiber of the plurality of output fibers, wherein a position of the MEMS mirror is controllable to switch from a first target output fiber to a second target output fiber of the plurality of output fibers, and wherein the position of the MEMS mirror is controlled using a vertically staggered comb drive. |
