PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sterilizing water, in which starting characteristics of an ultraviolet lamp in the dark can be improved while preventing deterioration of an auxiliary light source due to ultraviolet light.SOLUTION: A device 1 for sterilizing water is constituted so that an ultraviolet light-transmittable internal tube 3 is disposed on the inside of a light non-transmissible external tube 2, the ultraviolet lamp 5 housed in the internal tube 3 is attached to an internal tube attachment part 2A formed on the end of the external tube 2 in the longitudinal direction while interposing a socket 8 therebetween, the auxiliary light source 11 is arranged in the socket 8 and the water flowing in a water passage 4, which is formed between the external tube 2 and the internal tube 3, is irradiated with the ultraviolet light emitted from the ultraviolet lamp 5 to sterilize the water. The socket 8 is composed of a material which cuts ultraviolet light but transmits visible light. An ultraviolet light fixing hole 8a and an auxiliary light source fixing hole 8b are formed on the socket 8, which holes are not communicated with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
