A method for monitoring the quality of a communication channel supported by a sliding contact, the method comprising the following steps: controlling (401) the application of a continuous electrical signal onto one of the elements of the sliding contact, receiving (402) a plurality of values (V(n)) of electrical signals measured on the other of the elements of the sliding contact, estimating (408) from said plurality of measured values, a variance parameter value, comparing (409) the variance parameter value with a threshold (THR) and, on the basis of the result of the comparison, generating a signal (CHANNEL_OK, CHANNEL_NOK) representative of the quality of the communication channel. |

1. A method for monitoring the quality of a communication channel supported by a device for transmitting electrical signals between two mutually mobile elements forming a sliding contact, the method comprising:
controlling the application of a DC electrical signal to one of the elements of the transmission device, receiving a plurality of electrical signal values measured on the other of the elements of the transmission device, estimating, from said plurality of measured values, a variance parameter value(σVVmoy), comparing the variance parameter value to a threshold, as a function of the result of the comparison, generating a signal representative of the quality of the communication channel. |
