An MME that detects that a PDN connection is not enabled and changes from a non-optimal gateway to a bearer established in a PDN connection having a more optimal gateway as the endpoint node therefor. As a result optimal communications control can be achieved, for switching an already established PDN connection to a new PDN connection that uses a more optimal gateway and continuing UE communications.
