PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an airbag from expanding and inflating together with an unnecessary motion thereof in a longitudinal direction.SOLUTION: The airbag device comprises an airbag 40 and a strap 60. The airbag 40 is fixed to a vehicle at a rear and lower part of the device, and obliquely expanded and inflated forward and upward from the position thereof fixed to the vehicle, in the vicinity of a side of the upper-half body PU of an occupant P including the head PH, by gas for inflation to be supplied from a gas generator 30 according to impact to be applied to a vehicle from a side of a vehicular seat. A front end part of the strap 60 is attached to a front end part of the airbag 40, and a rear end part thereof is attached to the position of the airbag 40 fixed to the vehicle. The strap 60 is constituted of: an upper strap part 61 that is brought into a tension state accompanying the expansion and the inflation of the airbag 40; and a lower strap part 65, positioned below the upper strap part 61, which is brought into the tension state by tensile force stronger than tensile force in the upper strap part 61 accompanying the expansion and the inflation of the airbag device 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
