PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of accurately inserting and extracting an infrared light reduction unit.SOLUTION: An infrared light cut filter 4 is inserted between a photographic optical system 1 and an imaging element 7, and cuts infrared light included in an optical image. A control circuit 10 detects the luminance of a subject according to an image signal which is an output of the imaging element 7 to obtain first illumination detection results, and detects the luminance of the subject by an illumination sensor 8 positioned in a place different from the imaging element to obtain second illumination detection results. The control circuit selects any one of the first illumination detection results or the second illumination detection results according to the comparison results of the first and second illumination detection results, and selectively inserts the infrared cut filter into an optical path between the photographic optical system and the imaging element and extracts it from the optical path according the selected illumination detection results.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
