Disclosed are a method and a system based on a mobile terminal for turning off screen during a call to prevent an inadvertent touch, the method comprising: when a mobile terminal is detected to be in a calling state, and no touch operation on a touch screen is detected within a predetermined period, then controlling the mobile terminal to turn off the touch screen, and to enter a communication gesture mode; acquiring a gesture operation instruction of a user, and controlling the mobile terminal to perform a corresponding operation according to a preset gesture operation command. The present invention effectively prevents inadvertent touch to an off screen in a calling state.
