PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce consumption power that does not contribute to the sustenance of communication speed between ends in an internal network when communication is relayed between the internal network and an external network.SOLUTION: A communication device for relaying communication at an internal network side and communication at an external network side comprises: means for communicating with a communication terminal connected with the internal network by a plurality of first communication modes with different line speeds and power consumption; means for communicating with a communication device connected with the external network by a plurality of second communication modes with different line speeds; means for detecting the communication speed of the external network; and means for detecting the presence or absence of a session closed in the internal network, and when the session is not present, for setting the first communication mode in the internal network to a first communication mode with the minimum power consumption among first communication modes with a communication speed faster than the detected communication speed or the maximum line speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
